Celebrating Summer with Daily Front Row & DVF

Colors, prints, and flowers! On Friday, Daily Front Row hosted their Summer Soirée at the DVF Meatpacking District store in New York City. It felt like a breath of fresh air to go to an event again after the past year of the pandemic. Getting dressed up and being reunited with fashion friends was like a slice of NYFW, if only for a few hours.

Just as I was thinking about what to wear last week, DVF’s wonderful team sent over a piece from their latest collection: a pink Phoebe Cotton-Poplin Mini Dress. With a green palm tree print, A-line fit, puffed sleeves, and a ruffle detailing, it instantly brightened up the cloudy afternoon.

Speaking of brightness, the store is now adorned with vibrant flowers by Popflorist and the L.E.A.F. Festival of Flowers. Inside, guests mingled among racks of new pieces including signature DVF wrap dresses.

And, of course, there’s the DVF x Ashley Longshore Gallery. The mixed-media artist incorporated many of the designer’s heritage prints into the paintings of empowering women and sayings like, “Fear is not an option”.

The party marked a reminder to head into summer with a positive mindset. A few of us ended the night over dinner and frozen margaritas at Dos Caminos. It’s official: the energy of the city is back!
