First Off, What Makes Nordstrom Special?

Nordstrom has a spot in my heart since it was one of my first retail jobs. Back in high school, I was part of the store’s fashion board in their BP. (juniors’ clothes and accessories) department which led to my role as a sales associate during my summer and winter breaks throughout college.

During one semester break, I came back to my job and there were too many people working in the BP. department. So, I was transferred downstairs to men’s furnishings. At first, I was sad about the change, but it ended up being the best thing during that time. I made new friends, earned a higher commission, and learned a lot about menswear. That experience is still something I carry with me today as a reminder to stay open-minded. 

The Nordstrom website makes it super convenient to shop — you can easily scroll through items in every department at any time.

In past years, I’ve noticed that sale items, especially clothing in specific sizes and beauty sets, sell out quickly. So, it’s best to shop sooner rather than later, especially before prices go back up on August 4, 2025.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 Dates

Nordy’s biggest and most popular event of the year starts on different days based on membership tiers. 

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025 officially begins for the general public on July 12 and ends on August 3. 

Cardmembers receive early access: Icons can start shopping on July 8, Ambassadors on July 9, and Influencers on July 10.

Getting first dibs on the early sale dates gives you a lot more options to choose from. 

Based on my experience with the sale, I’ve noticed that new items can sell out quickly, especially specific sizes and popular items.

For example, bestsellers like the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream Jumbo ($550, on sale for $412) and the coziest pajamas from Barefoot Dreams ($228, on sale for $153) tend to disappear fast.

If you like an item, it’s best to shop it early when it’s on sale before it’s gone. 

What Is The Difference Between The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and The Half-Yearly Sale?

When Nordstrom has a sale, it’s a big deal (pun intended!) since it’s rare. The store is best known for its Anniversary Sale, which is the biggest sale of the year and takes place once every summer. This is the perfect chance to stock up and save before the fall season.

On the other hand, the Half-Yearly Sale occurs twice a year: once from December to early January after the holidays, and again in May, around Memorial Day. 

Although the discounts during the Half-Yearly Sale are not as major as those found during the Anniversary Sale, you can still find some great deals!

What’s New This Year In 2025

Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale has been a beloved annual event since the early 1960s, and it has grown to include numerous brands — this year, 65 new brands have been added to the sale. 

In 2025, the store launched its Anniversary Big Deals, featuring a select assortment of products with discounts of up to 50% off.

To celebrate this year’s sale, Nordstrom collaborated with Chloe Fineman from Saturday Night Live for a national campaign. The gameshow theme adds humor and excitement leading up to and during the sale.

“There’s something really magical about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I’m stocking up on fashion like it’s a competitive sport,” Fineman said in a press release. “I had so much fun selecting different styles as part of this year’s campaign and I’m here for the thrill of the find.”

Final Thoughts

Overall, shopping at Nordstrom is more than just buying something; it’s an experience. 

As someone who lives in New York City, I visit the flagship store on West 57th Street all the time, and I love how each visit feels like an adventure. Side note: it’s also where I go for tailoring — the quality of their service is excellent and reasonably priced.
