2019 Holiday Gift Guide: Modern Romantic Style
1. Gismondi 1754: Era Collection Earrings, $47,200
These 18 karat rose gold, pear-shaped 8.64 carat pink sapphire and 5.70 carat brilliant-cut white diamond beauties are mesmerizing for its cascading design. Like many of Gismondi 1754’s pieces, they practically dance in the light. With seven generations of jewelry making, the Genoa-based family brand is currently led by Massimo Gismondi who often finds design inspirations from love.
2. Charlotte Tilbury: Luscious Lip Slick in Princess Kiss, $52
For lip colors, I often tend to go for plums and reds, but this soft pink shade is an exception. It works for pretty much every skin tone and is the right amount of subtle color for everyday wear. The Pillow Talk lipliner makes lips appear wider and acts as an outline for the glossy lipstick.
3. Rebecca Taylor: La Vie Camila Floral Crepe Dress, $375
Floral dresses will forever be a classic. I had to add this one to the modern romantic style gift guide for its flattering fit. It can be worn from day to night, season to season. Plus, it’s machine washable and versatile enough to be worn with or without tights.
4. GlobeIn: Lush Velvet Round Blush Cushion, $75
Shopping is even better when the proceeds from sales go to a worthy cause. The mission of GlobeIn (a fair trade website) is to create jobs for remote artisans in more than 50 countries around the world. Each item purchased are handmade and ethically-sourced. This pintuck pink pillow adds a dreamy feel to any home.
5. Jill Stuart Beauty: Loose Blush in Pink Coral, $34
I’ve had this blush for about a year now and it remains of my favorites. The pink coral color adds a hint of color that’s easily blendable (and good for you with lavender, rosemary, avocado and almond oils). The packaging design couldn’t be more adorable with the pink puff applicator, too. Just like the clothing collections, the range of beauty goods are modern and romantic.
6. Parfums de Marly: Cassili Eau de Parfum, $305
This bottle not only looks like a work of art within itself, but it has a noteworthy scent. It’s fruity, floral scent lingers throughout the day with middle notes of plum accord, tonka beans, plumeria, and petalia. I’m usually drawn to amber notes but it’s nice to switch it up with something new. The base has sandalwood, tonka beans, and vanilla pod.
7. Laura Geller: Red Carpet Ready Palette, $32
This palette came just in time for holiday cocktail parties. It has three necessities: a moon dust hi-def glow illuminator (it’s sparkly but not over the top), soft petal eyeshadow, and purple haze eyeshadow (both go on matte with buildable color). I started using Laura Geller beauty products a few years ago after trying one of the brand’s Baked blushes that are handmade in Italy for 24 hours on a terracotta tile, and have been hooked since!
8. Olivia Burton: Marble Floral Rose Gold Mesh Watch, $145
It’s possible to give the gift of time. With a watch, of course! Recently at a holiday preview, I discovered Olivia Burton watches, which have a fairytale-like, feminine aesthetic to them. The line was started by two ex-fashion buyers based in London who were passionate about creating watch designs of their own.
